The programme of the WFF is divided into five competitive and three non-competitive sections. Everyone entering a film can indicate which section or sections they wish to submit the project for.

The programme of the WFF is divided into five competitive and two non-competitive sections. Everyone entering a film can indicate which section or sections they wish to submit the project to.
Competitive Sections:
THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION - for feature films from all over the world
The Awards:
- Warsaw Grand Prix (100.000 PLN), funded by the Mayor of Warsaw
- Special Jury Award (20.000 PLN), funded by RWE
COMPETITION 1-2 - for first and second feature films by directors from all over the world
The Awards:
-Grand Prix (20.000 PLN), funded by Alior Bank
THE FREE SPIRIT COMPETITION - for independent, rebellious films from all over the world
The Award: the Free Spirit Award (20.000 PLN), funded by Empik
THE DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION - for feature-length (over 60 min.) documentaries from all over the world
The Award: Best Documentary (20.000 PLN and a BenQ laptop ), funded by BenQ
THE SHORTS COMPETITION - for European short films (less than 45 min.)
The Award: Best Short Film (10.000 PLN), funded by the Polish Filmmakers Association
Non-Competitive Sections:
MASTER'S TOUCH - new films of well-acclaimed directors from all over the world
DISCOVERIES - visions of the contemporary world
FAMILY CINEMA WEEKEND - films for children and parents
THE AUDIENCE POLL
All the films presented at the WFF take part in the Audience Poll for the best film of the Festival. The film which gets the highest marks from the audience wins. The audience vote after each screening. The winner receives the Audience Award (no cash involved).
THE FIPRESCI Award - for the best first or second film by a director from Central and Eastern Europe, presented in any festival section. FIPRESCI is the International Federation of Film Critics. (www.fipresci.org)
