The 23rd Warsaw International Film Festival opened with Andrzej Jakimowski's Sztuczki / Tricks, an award-winner at the festival in Venice.
The film closing the 23rd WIFF was Korowod / Twists of Fate directed by Jerzy Stuhr.

Sixth German Panorama
The programme also included three films based on scripts written by children. They were made as part of the Moma Film Foundation's educational and filmmaking project "New Urban Legends". Audiences saw: "Zeboludy" (dir. Leszek Dobrucki), "Pragenia" (dir. Maciej Olbrycht) and "Pan Sowka i fryzjer z Targowka" (dir. Leszek Dobrucki, Marzena Poplawska, Joanna Pawluskiewicz)
