Someone from the audience shouts: “Poles, don’t let them fool you!”, which is commented by the media.
The chestnut leaf (yes, it’s a chestnut...) becomes the festival logo.
For the first time we publish a catalogue in Polish and in English.
We introduce the electronic subtitling at Wars Cinema as the first film event in Eastern Europe.
Festival preparations become a continuous process.
WFF materials are present at the Film Polski stands in Berlin and Cannes.
The festival guests are Costa-Gavras, Peter Kern, and American Independents: Rachel Amodeo, Richard Edson, Amos Poe, and Steven Starr.
The programme includes numerous sections, like:
- The Rise Of Chinese Cinema, with foreword by Tony Ryans
- The Returns: Królikiewicz, Piwowski
- American Independent Cinema, with foreword by Amos Poe
- miniretros of Spike Lee and Pedro Almodovar.
